Questioner: Do
demonstrations and strikes belong to Jihâd?
Shaykh Ibn Bâz:
No. It is wrong, it is wrong. It is a tribulation (fitnah). It is an evil. It
is not correct.
Questioner: Do
man-and women demonstrations against the leaders belong to
the ways of doing Da’wah? The one who dies during one of these, is he
considered a martyr for the
sake of Allâh?
Shaykh Ibn Bâz: I
do not see women- and man demonstrations as a solution. They are instead a
cause for problems, evil, that some people are treated unjustly and that some
are oppressed without due right. However, the Sharî’ah-based approaches are to
write, advise and call towards good.
This should however happen in a sound way. It was in
accordance with this methodology the scholars, companions of the prophet (sallâ
Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and those who followed them in goodness acted.
Written and verbal advices should be given to those whom have erred, the rulers
and leaders. This should occur without publicizing these errors from the
pulpits saying that he has done this and that (I.e. backbiting).
